Currently in the UK, many workplaces would struggle without assistance from support workers mending both computers and networks, while giving advice to users on a regular basis each week. Make sure you don't get caught-up, like so many people do, on the certification itself. Training for training's sake is generally pointless; this is about gaining commercial employment. This is absolutely essential as you'll need to know if you're going down the right road.

Ensure all your qualifications are current and also valid commercially - don't bother with studies which provide certificates that are worthless because they're 'in-house'. Only properly recognised accreditation from companies such as Microsoft, Adobe, CompTIA and Cisco will open the doors to employers.
